Adventure-seekers, families and nature-lovers, mark your calendars for August 26th and 27th. Hosted by Brisbane City Council, the inaugural Outdoor Adventure Festival will transform the evolving Victoria Park into a wonderland of exciting activities and experiences on Saturday and Sunday.
Celebrating all things adventure, the free-to-attend event invites the young and young-at-heart to explore one of Brisbane’s most spectacular parklands and perhaps discover a new passion. Including everything from BMX workshops and archery to disc golf and yoga, OAF will also feature seminars with Australian Ninja Warrior legend Ben Polson and Alone Australia survivalist Outback Mike.
Haven’t yet had your fill of heart-racing action? Test your skills at the 7.5-metre rock-climbing wall, take on the inflatable obstacle course, blaze your own trail with self-guided orienteering or glove-up for outdoor boxing. Those just wanting to lap up the sunshine and take in the scenery will also be impressed by the live entertainment and food trucks on offer.
The 2023 Outdoor Adventure Festival marks another milestone for the reimagined Victoria Park, which will soon be home to new amenities and landscapes. Encompassing 64 acres of open space in Brisbane’s inner city, the parklands are expected to become a major icon for the city following its renewal (completion date yet to be announced).
