Place Lead Agent Thomas Coussens has been named a finalist for the Real Estate Business (REB) Innovator of the Year Award for his clever take on advertising within his community.
With over 14 years of experience in the real estate industry, Thomas is described as a friendly and enthusiastic professional with a distinctly amusing demeanour. He is no stranger within his community and highly regarded for his industry knowledge and local presence in the Paddington, Bardon and Auchenflower pocket.
Being a major sponsor of Milton State School, Thomas was presented with the opportunity to utilise fence space at the school for advertising banners and decided to take a creative route with his very own 'selfie wings'.
The wings have since become a fan favourite amongst the School community.
"I wanted my banners to not only stand out but present a little bit of my personality and spark some joy in the community."
Thomas' priority was to create the opportunity for interaction and conversation outside of the general real estate marketing norm. He has received an abundance of positive feedback from families and parents with one message saying, "We love it. Thank you for making our neighbourhood a happy place."
For Thomas, the wings are a reflection of the community: bright, lively and high-spirited. "It's a chance to turn a static real estate ad into a joyful experience for families and kids on their way to and from school"
