The 4075 postcode always has a lot going on, and today we’re going to talk about what’s so great about the suburb at the end of the row - Oxley.
Oxley has a lot of locals who chose to live in the suburb, but commute to their workplace daily. So what makes Oxley so liveable?
We’ve put together five reasons why Oxley is such a great place to live!
The Coffee Shops
If you’re anything like us, you might judge a suburb (slightly) on how good its cafes are.
Oxley has no shortage of good spots to stop for a brew, like Black Milk Coffee! Since it’s right on the train line, it’s easy to grab a cuppa on the way to work or after dropping the kids off at school.
Our local coffee shops are masters of their trade and we love them for keeping us caffeinated every day.
Shopping Amenities
From quality butchers to the original Jimmy Rod’s Barbershop, you’ve got no shortage of amenities in Oxley.
The local shopping complex has plenty of places for your weekly grocery shop as well as a bunch of local gyms for you to sweat it up after work.
You’ve got plenty of restaurants to choose from and, once again, most places are easy walking distance from the train station.
Local Parks
In terms of the area, Oxley has a number of parks and dog parks...meaning both you and your furry friends can enjoy the green space.
The local council is great at keeping the grass mown and the areas in pristine condition, so it’s always an enjoyable activity for a sunny weekend.
Nixon Park was also landscaped last year with a bike track, exercise facilities and basketball court added!
Schools
Oxley State School is an extremely sought-after public school in the Western Suburbs, and has around 500 students.
The school was established in the community in 1870 and has specialist teachers in music, LOTE, physical education, learning support and teacher librarians.
The school is very community-oriented and just another reason why people love to live in Oxley!
Public Transport
We’ve been saying it throughout, but the public transport in Oxley is awesome.
You’ve got the train station right on your doorstep, and regular buses to connect you to the rest of Brisbane.
It’s pretty great that the train station also drops you off right at the hub of Oxley, meaning you can get everything done at one time, whether it’s going to the gym or grocery shopping.
