If the calendar year were to have a hump day, it would be July. We’re officially more than half way through 2018, and while that might be scary, it doesn’t mean you should spend the remaining winter months in hibernation.
There’s an abundance of interesting events in our locality, guaranteed to please every member of the family.
Rocket Science Adventures
July 9, 13:30-15:00
Bulimba Memorial Park
If your little ones have a penchant for the world of rockets, space travel and the thrill of blasting water bottles 60 metres into the air, this will be a guaranteed winner.
Part of Brisbane City Council’s Active & Healthy programs, tickets are $5, and the activity is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
The only requirement is that you bring an empty 1.25L bottle, and before you know it, your little engineer will have transformed it into the next millennium falcon.
Real Housewives of Bulimba Charity Breakfast
July 27, 9:00-11:00
Oxford 152
If your mum belongs on reality television, then she probably also belongs at this breakfast.
An event too good to be true, The Real Housewives of Bulimba will be returning for their third year of glitz, glamour, and hopefully not as much drama as the real housewives.
With some funds raised going to Project Pink and the PA Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the event will be held at Oxford 152.
Make a Fairy House
July 3, 10:30-14:00
The Mad Hatters Bookshop
We’re extremely jealous that this didn’t exist during our days as avid fairy believers.
Transport your youngster to a mystical land for only $25, where they will create their own fairy house using twigs, bark, and even a sprinkle of fairy dust.
With two class options for 4+ and 6+ years, it’s no surprise that the last event booked out. Get in quick to secure a spot and make your little one’s dreams come true.
Morningside Festival
July 29, 9:00-15:00
Thynne Road, Morningside
One for the whole squad, the Morningside Festival is returning for its 22nd year for the ultimate family fun day.
Celebrating life and bringing the community together, the festival aims to showcase local businesses and groups.
Atmosphere and entertainment will also be in abundance, with a number of exciting rides and competitions on offer. Entry is free, so you have no excuse not to make a day of it with your nearest and dearest.
