Looking for ideas for Mother’s Day this year or wondering what should to do for Mother’s Day in Brisbane? We've gathered a collection of ideas to get you started...

The tantrums, the late-night pick-ups, the countless home cooked meals – there’s plenty of reasons for us to be thankful for our mums. This year, go all-out and experience something different together in beautiful Brisbane.

For the adventurous mum: Play captain with GoBoat

Does mum roll her eyes at the idea of breakfast in bed? Candles and chocolates not really her thing? An amazing experience that can be as thrilling or as relaxing as you like, seeing the city’s sights aboard one of GoBoat’s electric vessels is something both of you will never forget. Departing from Breakfast Creek, the group offer the private hire of their fabulous picnic boats… no boat license needed.

Get a group together or keep things small; however you choose to spend the day, you’ll enjoy cruising along the iconic Brisbane River in style. Add a tasty platter and something delicious to sip on and you’ve got a Mother’s Day experience that will truly impress.

For the creative mum: Tea Blending workshop at Work-Shop or pasta-making at Salts Meats Cheese

If it’s a hands-on experience you’re seeking, head along to Newstead’s Work-Shop and blend your own special brews in a unique Tea Blending class (May 9). Led by the talents at Tour de Tea, this sensational two-hour workshop invites you to learn about classic tea bases and to create a bespoke blend that is tailor-made to your tastes.

Another interactive workshop that’s sure to win over foodies and creatives alike is Salts Meats Cheese’s incredible The Pasta Masta and Cannolis class (May 9). Hosted at their Gasworks restaurant, this two-and-a-half-hour workshop will run you both through how to make delicious hand-made fettucini and cannoli. A pizza lunch and drinks are also part of the experience; just in case you needed another excuse to book.

For the traditional mum: Attend Soul Pantry Mother’s Day Fest or the artisan Mother’s Day Market

Flowers, high tea, sparkling wine – who could ask for more? At Stafford’s popular Soul Pantry, you’ll be treated to it all during their upcoming Mother’s Day Fest (May 9). Expect live music, scrumptious culinary delights and a gorgeous flower posy for her to keep. One last reason to secure your spots? The venue will also be running a raffle, allowing you to potentially win tickets to a fantastic workshop for two!

To really get in mum’s good books, make the whole weekend one to remember and head along to the artisan Mother’s Day Market on the Saturday (May 8). Showcasing handmade artisanal goods and the enchanting Japanese art of Ikebana flower-arranging, this spectacular event will take place at artisan’s Bowen Hills address. Hot tip – you can take mum along and let her choose her own gift if you’re stuck for inspiration.

For the luxury-loving mum: Enjoy The Verve Lounge’s LUXE facial and high tea

Looking to go a little over-the-top? Show mum you really appreciate her by treating yourselves to an indulgent pamper session at Ascot’s The Verve Lounge. A limited-edition treatment available especially for the occasion, the spa’s one-hour LUXE facial will have your skin glowing and feeling rejuvenated. Oh, you’ll also be spoiled with treats like macarons, scones, ribbon sandwiches and a glass of bubbles. That’s sure to give you some brownie points!
