When you think of farms and farming land, you certainly don't think of a little patch of land in the Brisbane suburb of Ferny Hills.
But just off Samford Road are rows upon rows of seasonal vegetables, herbs and spices, all grown by local Liam Hughes.
After working with fruit and vegetable produce for 10 years, Liam decided he wanted to start growing his own.
He convinced his Dad to let him use an empty block in Brisbane's north; that’s when Lot 81 Micro Farm was born.
If you're looking for locally-grown lettuce mix, zucchinis, squash, purple carrots or kale, you can find him at the farm on Friday afternoons or at The Gap Markets.
We caught up with Liam to learn a bit about how Lot 81 came about. Take a watch.
