Inhabiting an old power station of exposed brick, industrial interiors with concrete floors, and graffiti covering the walls, the Brisbane Powerhouse is the cultural hub of our city.

Offering an array of events from free showings, to magnificent food & wine, to breathtaking performance highlights, Brisbane Powerhouse is here to inspire Brisbane by showcasing some of the country’s best and beginning artists.

“What is really special to us, and at the core of what we do, is supporting artists from all around Brisbane whether they be established or emerging,” says Arts Director, Kris Stewart.

Kris is the man that makes all these magnificent things happen, so we thought we’d ask him “what’s going on at the BrisbanePowerhouse”!

Kris made special mention of some very exciting upcoming performances, from the Cabaret Festival with well-known performer Allan Cumming, to ‘Seven on Sinatra’, an act of 7 women singers and a 7-piece swing band performing songs of the great Frank.

If that isn’t enough to get you excited, then perhaps their premier musical will, which after three years of prep will be the lead show for this year’s Queensland Music Festival.
