Advice from the Place Infinity Club | Part 1

Thursday September 30, 2021 ● By Daisy Hicks // Place Estate Agents

The 2021 Place Annual Awards marked the largest year for Place to date, a testament to the hard work of our teams across Brisbane. For the first time, four agents and their teams reached infinity level, the highest status a Place agent can achieve according to their figures. It goes without saying, that this does not come without hard work and many sacrifices, of which these agents are examples of. More importantly, they embody the Place values of respect, innovation, excellence and community, and are genuinely doing good within the real estate industry.

We're excited to introduce our advice blogs, where we sit down with members from our team and share their nuggets of gold in line with our learn-it-all culture! We're kicking off with the Place Infinity Club, which is made up of our top performing sales agents.

In Part 1 of this four part series, we sat down with Paula Pearce and her team.

Paula Pearce & Team PP

Now in her 13th year in Real Estate, Paula made the change following a career with a Global IT Company. Supported by a team of five real estate professionals, Paula is highly sought after for marketing family homes in Brisbane’s Inner East, currently regarded as the number 1 selling team in Norman Park.

What attracted you to Real Estate?

“My previous job involved a lot of international travel. Though that sounds fancy and has its perks, it is hard being away from family all the time. With real estate, although the hours are long, I rarely travel more than a few suburbs away!"

It also gave me the opportunity to leverage and apply my existing skills in sales and negotiation. It’s been incredibly rewarding; there is no limit to your success and earnings, the harder you work, the higher the financial reward.”

What do you enjoy most about Real Estate?

“It combines my two loves: people and property! There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a young couple purchase their first home and then helping them sell that home to move into a bigger place years later as their family grows!”

Can you explain your team and everyone’s roles within it?

  • Paula Pearce, Lead Agent: Responsible for prospecting, listing and selling.
  • Mikaela Crone, Lead Agent: Responsible for prospecting, listing and selling.
  • Natasha Pearce, Marketing Manager: Marketing support, agent marketing and client retention.
  • Paige Thorson, Agent Support: Manages property sales and administration from end-to-end.
  • Caitlin Travers, Sales Associate: Assists with all aspects of prospecting, listing and selling.
  • Tom Wilson, Part time Agent Support: Assists Paige and Natasha where required.

How does it feel to be recognised as one of the leading agents at Place?

“It really is an honour. I have huge respect for all the high performing agents at Place as getting there is considerably hard work. At the same time, I am excited for our new and upcoming agents as the market is extremely strong and real estate is a dynamic, exciting, and rewarding industry!”

What is something you do that you might credit this achievement too?

"Amongst other things, incredible work ethic and tenacity. Even in the early days when it was difficult to get listings, I never gave up and I worked hard to be better at all aspects of real estate, especially at listing properties, which has now paid off.”

What’s one piece of advice you would give to anyone considering starting in Real Estate?

"Be prepared to work hard! Also, be prepared for rejection; it’s just part of the job. You need to have a thick skin, be able to pick yourself up when required and believe in yourself. Be open to listening and learning to trainers, coaches, and senior agents as they have a wealth of knowledge to share. Once you learn from them, take the information and modify it to match your story and situation.”

What’s next for you and your team?

“We will continue to look at new and innovative ways to be more efficient and achieve higher revenue targets. This will be achieved through technology, marketing, and ensuring that each team member is clear on their role and responsibilities so there is no overlap and ever member of the team is working towards a common goal.”
